Bunmeika Magazine is a digital magazine focused on the dissemination of Japanese culture in which you will find specialized articles on art (cinema, painting, immersive reality, etc.), events, traditions and curiosities about Japan.

Jose Montaño

With postgraduate training in East Asian Cultures and Societies and Contemporary Film and Audiovisual, Jose completed his PhD with a scholarship support from the Japan Foundation. This made it easier for him to complete his thesis as a visiting researcher at Waseda University in Tokyo. His research topics are the diffusion and international reception of Japanese cinema, the cinema of the Heisei period and Japanese cinematic comedy. He has lived in Japan for more than ten years, between Yokohama and Tokyo and he is currently dedicated to teaching and disseminating Japanese cinema and culture.

Claudia Montes

Claudia is a curator and coordinator of international visual and immersive art festivals. Currently, she works for CinemaLeap Inc. and Beyond the Frame, the only festival in Japan exclusively dedicated to XR. After graduating with a BA in Film and Television at the Ramon Llull University, Claudia specialized in the convergence between media and anthropology, graduating with a MA in Critical Media & Cultural Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies university. Her interest in Japan led her to graduate with a MA in East Asian Business and Cultures at the University of Barcelona and later to participate in the Business, Culture & Language from Senshu University, in Tokyo, where she lives since 2022.
